Phan Thiet – Mui Ne

10/18/2013, 09:45
Waiting in a busy street of HCMC is not an easy task, so we each took it in turns of taking one of the boys for dinner while the others sit with the luggage it works so thats what we stick with, now we had booked three seats in a sleeper bus to take us to Mui Ne. Once the sleeper bus had arrived the kids were so excited because they had a bed on the bus and so were we, it was amazing 43 beds and a toilet, now we had spoken to some people about the bus and they said request the back so we did and thank god we did as there were 5 beds along the back and only about 12 people on the bus. It was the best bus ride we had ever had the kids could pick their beds so Oscar wanted to sleep on the top bunk and Archie has ants in his pants so he wandered around from bed to bed. We were due to arrive at Mui Ne at midnight, I woke up at 11.20 and all I can say is thank god I was asleep most of the way. The truck and bus drivers are the craziest over here.

We had told the bus driver our address of our hotel and he dropper us off at the end of the street but we still were about 20km away, Oscar was a little distressed as he didn't want to get off and they dropped us off in the middle of no where with no taxi number oh great, what good parents you have Oscar and Archie. Eventually after about 10 minutes a guy stopped on his motor bike and rang a taxi for us. YAY we finally arrived safe and sound.
In the morning I realised I had booked the accommodation in Phan Thiet which is still about 30km away from Mui Ne and is just a street of about 30 plus kilometres of resorts on a beach. So we were secluled and I mean there wasn't even anyone in our Hotel or the one next door we knew it was quiet season but we never thought this quiet, so we had a Hotel and a beach all to ourselves.
We made a trip into town to get the kids some snacks, the sand dunes we saw were huge, the cows, chooks and pigs roam the streets and views we saw were amazing.
The beach didn't look much after being to Phu Quoc but once you walked on the sand it was just as amazing that squeeky white sand between you toes is great, the kids loved it instead of searching for sea creatures this beach had sea shells so it was something new and I just caught some rays on the beach.
As it wasn't what we expected or we didn't stay where we expected we cut this stop short and only stayed 2 nights and moved on so we never actually saw Mui Ne the home of kite surfing and wind surfing.
